Lucy Liu was born in America. Liu is an American actor, singer and voice actor. She's attractive and skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances on popular TV shows, her fame was boosted after joining the cast of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. After her success, she landed significant part on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii as the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. She also played leading characters in failed box office films like Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was voice actor for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was a minor role that failed to have any impact. Southland was a highly acclaimed police show that Liu played in on a regular basis played a part that allowed her to be a an internationally acclaimed actor. Liu takes great care in selecting her roles, so she isn't a victim of stereotypes. Liu has acknowledged her Chinese heritage, however she has not let them hinder her creative abilities.
