Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 to a poor family with 12 kids later on, realized early that she was able to escape her hardships through a creative mind. Before she learned to write and read, she had already composed her own songs. Within 8 years she got her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The same year she released her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner required the services of a new singer by this point. Parton got her first gig in 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. It was not until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's band because the popularity of her solo albums including Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at No. The first time it made it to No. 1 was 1974.
