Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist. She is a regular for CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Prior to becoming a part of CNN in June the year 2015, she had worked at many local radio stations including those in Atlanta as well as Nashville. The meteorologist has covered hurricanes, floods, wildfires and even blizzards. In 2019, she was nominated to win the Emmy award for her coverage of the hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. The coverage she provided of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, during which more than 350 tornadoes occurred in the Southeastern United States over a period of four days with 200 tornadoes occurring on April 27th, was also nominated in the Emmy Awards. Because of her training in environmental science she has covered earthquakes, volcanoes, and other natural disasters and climate change stories. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelor's program of Atmospheric Science, which she earned from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is a part of numerous organizations, such as The American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
